Congressman Cooper : A different perspective

It was a novel experience: I had heard so much about Congressman Cooper's charisma. The only representative to run from two congressional districts, Rep. Cooper opened his speech with a warning that he may not sound politically correct.

He then spoke about the current state of the government and the healthcare system in the U.S. Talking about the 47 million uninsured in the country, he said that it is imperative to foster a common visaion and shared goals among physicians, economists and patients. This will  bridge the disconnect between the main players in the Healthcare industry.

His vision of America is that of a great country where everyone gets an equal chance to be upwardly mobile.

Rep. Cooper imparted a special message for us BSchool types: He firmly believes that if MBAs take it upon themselves to run the government, with the hope that the best practices of business would be applied , it will  make our world a better place.
